Stakeholders Validate Child Online Protection Guidelines to Safeguard Ghana’s Digital Future

Efforts to strengthen child safety in the digital space have gained renewed momentum following a stakeholder validation workshop on the proposed Child Online Protection (COP) Guidelines for Industry.

The one-day session, convened by the Cyber Security Authority in collaboration with UNICEF Ghana, assembled key actors from government, the private sector, civil society, and development organisations to scrutinise the draft framework.

Participants examined the proposed guidelines in detail, evaluating their relevance, workability, and coherence with Ghana’s legal and regulatory framework, as well as established international standards. Technical and operational recommendations were put forward to refine the document, enhance clarity, and support effective implementation.

The consultative process is expected to strengthen institutional coordination and reinforce collective responsibility among stakeholders, paving the way for a safer and more accountable digital ecosystem for children nationwide
