Ghana recorded a significant increase in reported cyber incidents during the first half of 2025, highlighting the growing threat of cybercrime in the country.
According to data from Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA), reported cyber incidents rose from 1,317 in the first half of 2024 to 2,008 during the same period in 2025.
The financial impact was also significant, with reported cybercrime-related losses reaching approximately GH¢14.94 million in the first half of 2025.
The increase underscores the growing need for individuals, businesses and government institutions to strengthen their cybersecurity measures, improve public awareness and promptly report suspected cyber incidents.
The CSA continues to encourage the public to remain vigilant, particularly against online fraud, phishing, impersonation and other forms of cyber-enabled crime, and also report all forms of cyber incidents.
