A major cyberattack has struck Canadian telecommunications and outsourcing firm Telus Digital, with hackers claiming to have stolen hundreds of terabytes of sensitive data from the company’s systems.
The hacking group ShinyHunters alleges that the breach exposed large volumes of confidential information, including personal customer data, call records, and internal source code belonging to several organizations that rely on Telus Digital’s services.
According to initial reports, the attackers claim the stolen data may affect multiple companies whose operations are supported through Telus Digital’s outsourcing platforms.
